Chelsea rallied from a two-goal deficit to draw level with Aston Villa. Marc Cucurella gave Chelsea the most disastrous start of the match scoring an own goal within the fourth minute. Despite Chelsea having much of the ball and several opportunities, Morgan Rogers scored the second match's goal for Villa. However, on the 60th minute, Noni Madueke grabbed a goals back for Chelsea with a marvellous low finish. Gallagher drew the match level with a perfectly curled ball to the top corner. Late into the final minute, Axel Disasi believed he had won it for the Blues, but the VAR dismissed it due to a foul by Benoit Badiashile.
