Chelsea player ratings against Aston Villa
Chelsea rallied from a two-goal deficit to draw level with Aston Villa. Marc Cucurella gave Chelsea the most disastrous start of the match scoring an own goal within the fourth minute. Despite Chelsea having much of the ball and several opportunities, Morgan Rogers scored the second match's goal for Villa.
However, on the 60th minute, Noni Madueke grabbed a goals back for Chelsea with a marvellous low finish. Gallagher drew the match level with a perfectly curled ball to the top corner.
Late
into the final minute, Axel Disasi believed he had won it for the Blues, but
the VAR dismissed it due to a foul by Benoit Badiashile. The final score of the
game was 2-2.Below, we've ranked the Chelsea squad in this matchup versus Aston
Villa out of ten.
Djordje
Petrovic-The Serbian was powerless to stop Cucurella's own
goal. But he should have done better for Rogers' goal before the break. He was
too sluggish to move down to his near post because of his poor posture. 5.5
Trevoh
Chalobah- He did not look comfortable on the right back
position. Even though he has played in that position in some previous matches,
this was not one of his best performances. 6
Thiago
Silva- The veteran defender performed well. He wasn't to
blame, in my opinion, for any of the goals Chelsea conceded. However, He was
caught off guard a few times due to his positioning.6.5
Benoit
Badiashile- Badiashile performed better than what he showed at
Arsenal. That is beyond a shadow of a doubt. Although there is still much room
for development, this is a start in the correct direction. 6
Marc
Cucurella- With an own goal in the first four minutes, the
Spaniard had the worst start imaginable. He had trouble at initially, but as
the game went on, he became better and launched a strong left-side attack. 5
Moises
Caicedo-Caicedo performed admirably. It seems like his
greatest game in forever. He played on the front foot and attacked well.8
Conor
Gallagher-did a great job winning the ball back and receiving
an assist on the goal. With fewer than ten minutes of regular time left, the
game was tied thanks to his spectacular strike.8.5
Noni
Madueke- A fantastic strike to allow Chelsea to get back into
the match. Really improved from the first half to the second.7
Cole
Palmer- After missing the Arsenal match due to sickness, the
21-year-old made a comeback to the team. But, Palmer's performance at Villa
Park was far from his best, as the Chelsea star found it difficult to get into
the game and lost a fantastic one-on-one opportunity in final minutes.5
Mykhailo
Mudryk- He was very wasteful. His wastefulness was evident
whenever he had a notable position. A player that can be extremely annoying to watch.4
Nicolas
Jackson- The Senegalese attacker had moments of brilliance.
He played well all around. It's unfortunate that he was just a little bit
offside following such a strong finish. He could have done better with his
headed ball that hit the post. 6
Substitutes
Axel
Disasi. Did not play enough to get a rating.
Cesare
Casadei- N/A
