Pochettino Returns to Stamford Bridge

 After just one season at Chelsea, Mauricio Pochettino was fired as the Blues manager.

Chelsea fans and some players were surprised by the decision, especially because he had led the team to qualify for the next campaign's European Competition. Chelsea finished sixth in the previous competition and qualified for the Europa League. However, they will play in the Conference League after Manchester United won the FA Cup. The Blues played nice football at the end of the campaign hence the surprise when the Chelsea owners decided to fire Pochettino.

Last night, Pochettino was back at the bridge for the Soccer Aid charity match. Pochettino was coaching the Rest of the world team and they were defeated by the England side that was being coached by Frank Lampard.

Several Chelsea legends participated in the match including Eden hazard, Gary Cahill, Petr Cech, and Michael Essien. 

Lampard will always be well-liked by the Chelsea fans, Pochettino could not count on the same. However, a video from the Mail Online surfaced on Twitter, showing him greeting some of the attendees with a wave and getting a nice response in the process.

Pochettino has been replaced by Enzo Maresca who has been given a long contract indicating the owner's confidence in him and the project.

Although several players who had developed a strong relationship with the old manager were undoubtedly angry at his dismissal, it has already been reported that some have been speaking well of Italian because of prior experiences.

Cole Palmer is one of them, and following his outstanding season, he will undoubtedly play a significant part in the new manager's plans.
