Chelsea Interested in purchasing Murillo from Nottingham Forest

Chelsea is keen on bringing in Nottingham Forest defender Murillo. This will be a surprising and odd acquisition given the number of central defenders in Chelsea’s squad.

Chelsea already has Badiashille, Disasi, Colwill, and Chalobah as options in the central defense. Additionally, Chelsea also acquired the services of Tosin Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham in a free transfer. Finally, the Blues will also be welcoming Back Wesley Fofana who sustained an injury that made him miss the whole of last season.

Given all the options Chelsea have in the central defense position, it would be very odd if they push to sign the defender from Forest given his high valuation.

Chelsea plan to include Chalobah in a swap deal that will see him move to Nottingham Forest. The Blues have been looking to sell the Cobhan graduate to help them balance their books.

However, allowing Chalobah to go to Nottingham Forest would be an unwise decision by Chelsea. The defender showed his quality during the last matches of the previous season hence it would be advisable to keep him at the bridge. Additionally, Chalobah loves Chelsea and understands the club better than most defenders in Chelsea’s books.

Chelsea can look at getting rid of either Disasi or Badiashile who have had an underwhelming time at Chelsea since joining from Monaco. Chelsea should however look to strengthen in other positions given the options available in Centra defence.
