Lukaku's situation at Chelsea
Lukaku returned to Chelsea from Inter Milan in a £97.5 million deal in the summer of 2021, having left the Blues in 2014.
However,
after a falling out with Thomas Tuchel, Lukaku's second stint at Chelsea
rapidly took a bad turn.
The
striker went back to Inter on loan for the 2022–2023 season before signing a
short-term contract to play for Roma in the 2023–2024 season.
Lukaku had
a successful season with the Giallorossi, playing 47 matches in competitive
play and tallying 21 goals and four assists.
Lukaku
will probably depart Stamford Bridge again this summer. Chelsea are reportedly
unwilling to consider another short-term transfer, according to BBC Sport.
Chelsea is
trying to get Lukaku's salary off the books hence they will only consider a
permanent move for the striker.
Chelsea
wants to get paid a substantial amount, even though they are eager to let go of
the 31-year-old. Chelsea will demand around £37 million for the player.
Although
the Blues have stated their asking price, it is unclear if any of the player's
possible suitors are prepared to make that kind of financial commitment.
Roma
appears to have been turned off by Chelsea's Valuation of Lukaku, while AC
Milan and Napoli are also hesitant to part with that kind of money. They might
wait to see whether Chelsea drops their valuation as the summer progresses.
Napoli would be Lukaku’s preferred destination because it will offer him the
opportunity to work with Antonio Conte. The two helped Inter Milan clinch the
Seria A title during the 2020-2021 season.
Lukaku should go to Saudi Arabia
