Chelsea Dealt a Huge Blow in their Pursuit of Benjamin Sesko

Chelsea have managed to complete the signing of Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham as a free agent. However, Chelsea is still looking to make more signings to boost their squad and make the team better for their new manager Enzo Maresca.

It is said that Chelsea is searching for a goalkeeper, left-back, center-back, and striker during the transfer window; however, it is unclear if they will acquire players to fill all of those positions.

Perhaps the club's first aim is to sign a striker to contend with Nicolas Jackson and provide consistent scoring. One of the players that Chelsea wanted to sign was Benjamin Sesko from Leipzig. After deciding against pursuing a transfer for Victor Osimhen owing to cost and doubts about his suitability for the style of play, the Blues appear to have picked  Benjamin Sesko as their primary target.

However, Chelsea have been dealt a heavy blow in their pursuit of Benjamin Sesko as the player has decided to stay at his current club. Arsenal and Manchester United have also shown interest in Benjamin Sesko but Fabrizio Romano has confirmed to X.com that Sesko will sign a new contract at Leipzig at improved terms

This is undoubtedly a setback for Chelsea, but it should not have come as a surprise, and their emphasis will need to turn to other targets.

After ruling out Osimhen, it is doubtful that Chelsea would reconsider a deal for the striker. They are reported to be interested in Aston Villa's Jhon Duran.

Chelsea's subsequent move in the striker market will be quite fascinating considering the dearth of quality choices available, but the most essential thing is that the Blues choose someone who fits the style of play.
