Chelsea consider Lois Openda

Chelsea continue their search for a striker to compete with Nicolas Jackson. Chelsea’s top target was Leipzig’s striker Benjamin Sesko. However, the Blues started looking at other options after the striker decided to extend his contract with Leipzig. Chelsea have also been negotiating with Aston Villa to sign Jhon Duran. Chelsea have expanded their search and Team Talk reports that they have entered the race to  sign Lois Openda.

Other premier league teams have also been linked with the striker. The striker is also linked with Tottenham and Chelsea hope that their good relationship with Leipzig can help them land the striker. Lois Openda has a release clause of 70 million that will become active in 2025.

Leipzig expects that Openda will have a great Euro 2024, putting them in an advantageous position to ask for a sum close to the £70 million release clause from suitors.
