Chelsea’s Decision on Victor Osimhen
Fabrizio Romano claims that Chelsea does not want to sign Victor Osimhen who they have been strongly connected to in previous transfer window.
Although
there have been months of rumors, it now appears highly improbable that Chelsea
would acquire Napoli striker Victor Osimhen this summer.
Romano
declares that Chelsea is not in talks or discussions to sign Victor Osimhen.
Chelsea has no plans to pursue Osimhen.
Additionally,
Romano says that Armando Broja and Romelu Lukaku are also slated to go this
summer, leaving Nicolas Jackson as the only recognized striker in Chelsea.
Osimhen
has a release clause of almost £120 million, and Napoli won't agree to a
cheaper price. That's a significant sum of money for a player, who has also
been injured in the most part of the previous campaign. It is evident that
Osimhen can score goals, however, he may not fit in Chelsea's possession-based
style of play, which is what the club seems to want to play when Enzo Maresca takes
over as head coach as anticipated.
Chelsea
should avoid using a significant portion of their transfer money on a single
player since they will also need to fill a number of other positions this
summer.
